  1. A semiquantitative method was used. For this analysis, the ratio between the extinction of the control or patient sample and the extinction of the calibrator is calculated according to the following formula: Extinction of the control or patient sample / Extinction of calibrator
  2. Extinction refers to the Optical Density or Absorbance at 450nm Wavelength
  3. The extinction of the calibrator defines the upper limit of the reference range of non-infected persons (cut-off or threshold) recommended by the manufacturer. Values above the indicated cut-off are considered positive and those below negative
